Mitch, Stacy and Alan reluctantly agree to wait near the office. While they're waiting Mitch, noticing how bored Stacy and Alan look, conjures up some romantic music. With a greatful look Alan steps over to Stacy and asks her to dance. As the two glide around the floor, Mitch goes next to Dale.
"They make a great couple, don't they?"
"Yeah. Sorry about the fuss over the dance, but I just couldn't have gone through with it."
"Oh, it's all right." says Mitch, though as he watches the two dancers he sighs. Dale doesn't catch it, being caught up in thoughts of how to deal with Coyote.
Finally the music ends. Mitch gets off the floor and looks around nervously.
"What's the matter?" asks Dale.
"The dance is over."
"Hey dog, what happened to the music?" asks Alan playfully. His attitude chances at the scent of worry comming from both Mitch and Dale. "What's going on?"
Before either dog can answer, a strange golden light starts filling the hall. Down the stairs decends Coyote, looking every bit the part of a deity.
"Hello mortals." he says, grinning "You've provided me with a great deal of amusement, though I was a little disappointed you didn't show up at the dance. That would've been fun."
Alan starts forward, tail lowered and ears in submissive positions. "Great Coyote, I humbly request that you send us back to our world."
Coyote grins "But isn't this what you've always wanted? To be dogs among men?" he lets out a yipping bark at the play on words, sending shudders down their spines. "Ah, but you do not seem to have been enjoying yourselves, though.' He is suddenly in front of Alan, who finds himself unable to alter his stare into Coyote's eyes. "You, you would have liked to explore this world more. Or maybe have become someone's faithful pet. Oh yes, your mind and secrets are open to me. Perhaps I will let you stay and explore as you wish. Or perhaps I shall grant one of your OTHER desires?" He smiles and is suddenly muzzle to muzzle with Dale. "For you, this was a puzzle that needed solved, but it's solution give you great pain. You'd like nothing more than to back up to before Stacy's little relevation about your counterparts. You were having fun until then. I can arrange that, it would amuse me greatly to see how things played out."
He goes before Stacy "Being caught in this is fun, isn't it? You are very spirited, and have some interesting desires."
Finally he stands before Mitch "You are a difficult one. For you want nothing more nor less than for your friends to both be happy. You wish to explore like Alan, but have a curious mind like Dale. It should be interesting to see what may come from you."
Finally he stands back and addresses all four "Since you have all provided me with amusement, I will let you all have a wish. One each. Let me know your desire, and it will be done - even if you wish to go home it will provide me with amusement."
The four look at each other, then at Coyote. He smiles slyly "You may also make one large wish if you want. But the result must be unanimous."
The four look at each other again. Should they wish as one or seperately? And what will be the results given the nature of the wish-granter?
