Harry's face is covered with yellow fur and his hair has grown into a
thick brown mane sticking out from under his rubber helmet. You watch
his rubber clad hindquarters as he runs - a tail is growing out of his
spine and snaking its way down his leg. Harry reaches into his
football shorts as he runs and pulls out the tail to let it trail in
the wind behind him. His exposed backside is covered with tawny hair.
You notice some gypsy circus trailers are driving on to the far side
of the field. Coach Zeb has donned a red rubber kerchief around his
head like a gypsy. He cracks a whip. Harry drops to all fours and
continues running. You notice that Allan -number 33- has grown huge
and grey practically growing out of his stretchy blue uniform.
Harry's a lion. Allan's an elephant.
You slow down but keep running. You realize that you have been
changing too - but into what? And why?
The why becomes clear as you approach the gypsy trailers - a banner on
the side of one announces "COME SEE ZEB'S AMAZING ANIMAL ACTS!" Looks
like you and your teammates are going to join the circus.
