"Really, I don't know what it is with players these days. You think
they could take a little direction," complained the coach guide to the
air, "Here I show them all our amazing things, and all I say is don't
touch, or please don't. But do they listen? Now one guy is a
football, another is a jockstrap, one's under armour, another is
liquified," he shakes his head in exasperation, and sighs loudly.
"Well, at least a few of you abide by the rules. Now I'd like to
point out the marking on this grass. This is not ordinary astroturf.
See I push a button and the graphics on the field change. It's like
what they do on your tv at home superimposing logos and what not. But
here the grass is fiber optic. The lines can be white or yellow, or
whatever color I want. I can show the home team's logo at their goal
and the visiting team's logo at the other goal, and when they switch
directions, the goal can switch too. All with the flick of a button.
How would you like to play on hot pink grass with blue "chalk" lines?
Well, we can do that too!"
Instantly the green grass flickered and turned pink with blue
markings.
"Wow!"
"Amazing!"
"Wish you could do that with uniforms - then when a player gets
traded, he can keep his gear but it changes its markings to match his
new team," said Griffin Gunn, a running back from Texas.
"Funny, you should say that, but I've done something like that," the
guide says putting his hand around Gunn's shoulder.
