Mary's unblinking eyes gave her a mind-numbingly boring view of the wooden leg of her giant desk. Her salvation, the Vials, sat in their box on top of the desk. But, without the ability to move, Mary began to loose hope. Her thoughts drifted as the sun streamed through the window and the shadows grew longer.
"Who sent me that box," she thought, "and why?" Clearly, whoever had sent it to Mary wanted her to do something a bit more interesting than turning herself into a hunk of plastic in the shape of a Barbie doll. Or had they? Maybe Mary had an enemy with access to strange powers and this is exactly what that person expected would happen. On and on Mary thought, until the sun set and the moonlight streamed through the window.
"Mary, I'm home. Are you here?" A familiar voice shocked Mary to her senses. Jennifer, Mary's roommate was back from work! Without a thought, Mary yelled to her friend, but her heart sank into her hollow plastic chest when she realized that no sounds came out. Mary began to work herself into a panic as Jenn's footsteps thundered through the living room floorboards. She was walking down the hallway, into the adjoining room. Mary couldn't think of anything to do, when suddenly she felt herself lifted from the floor by an enormous hand!
