Jeff's Mom had searched Jeff's room for a little inspiration when she spied a collection of figurines he had of the classic movie monsters, including a couple different werewolves. She decided to go with that and typed the specifics into the computer, smiling her herself. He'd never see this one coming. She limited to change to an hour, figuring much longer wouldn't be a good idea. She also added that only his body would change, his mind would remain the same.
As the zap ended, Jeff looked himself over and then back to his mother, looking confused.
"What did you select?" he asked, "Nothing looks different"
As he finished his sentence an odd feeling came over him. Jeff let out a low groan.
"You should take another look, sweetheart," said his Mom, followed by another laugh.
Jeff turned to the full length mirror on the back of his closet door. The image he saw startled him. He had a deep five o'clock shadow and his eyes had changed to a deep amber color. He moved closer to the mirror, in shock.
"What the..." he muttered as he looked at his reflection. As he spoke he caught sight of his teeth. He got up close to the mirror and opened his mouth. He nearly fell over...his teeth were growing into sharp fangs.
"You're turning into a werewolf honey," she said.
"Really?" exclaimed Jeff, turning to his mother and smiling.
"Yeah, I thought that it might be a fun surprise for you," she replied.
"With a snout and digigrade legs and everything?" he asked.
"Yep," she replied, smiling.
"This is going to be so cool!"
Jeff turned back to the mirror and watched as the changes progressed. He felt a tickle in his ears and watched in the mirror as they slowly grew out to points. His fingernails grew out into claws as his palms became rough and started to resemble paw pads.
He pulled off his shirt and watched as brown fur started to grow in over his chest, arms and back and further down. His muscles swelled and grew, giving him more definition. Jeff felt a slight pain at the base of his spine and reached back in shock as he found he had the beginnings of a tail.
He felt a similar pain ripple across his face and turned back to the mirror. The end of his nose had turned black and rough and his lips had turned black. Sharp fangs jutted from his mouth. His heart started beating faster as his face slowly started to push out into a lupine snout.
His growing tail started pushing against the seat of his pants. Jeff reached back and ripped a hole in the seat of his pants with his clawed hands and fed his tail through the hole.
Jeff fell forward as his feet twisted and reshaped into digigrade paws. He looked down and watched as his nails grew out into long, sharp claws.
Another ripple of pain flashed over Jeff's face and he grimaced as the last stage of the transformation overtook him and his face finished pushing out into a snout and his pointed ears moved to the top of his head.
Jeff slowly opened his eyes. Facing the closet mirror, he took in his reflection. It took a moment for him to realize that what he was seeing was himself. What he was was a six foot tall anthromorphic wolf. He ran a clawed hand over his face and through his dense, brown fur. His jeans were tattered, with tufts of fur leaking through. It began to sink in that this was indeed real.
"Well, what do you think?" asked his Mother.
Jeff smiled and threw back his head and let out a joyful howl.
His mom ran her hand through his thick fur.
"Wow, that is really something," she remarked. She took his hand in hers and dragged him out of the room. "Come on, lets go show the others..."
