"John, don't be upset. You know it was for the best," said a deep
older woman's voice on the phone.
"Oh, John, can't come to the phone," said Erin awkwardly.
"What? Who is this said the woman angrily?"
"Who are you?" responded Erin defensively.
"I am John's mother Ursula Thetis, and who are you?" she said
haughtily.
"Oh, Mrs. Thetis, I'm so sorry. It's Erin, John - well - he just -uh,
well it's kind of hard to explain," yammered Erin awkwardly.
"How are you talking on the phone? You're supposed to be a fish!"
"What? How? You did this to me?"
"Shut up girl and tell me what happened to my son!"
"What happened to your son? You're responsible for this?"
"Never mind! I'm coming over to see for myself!"
Thunder crashed, and rain came pelting down from the skies. The pool
waters begin to churn and darken. A whirlpool formed and became a
water spout, and the spout coalesced to form a dark scary shape with
eight tentacles for her body. The tall thin octopus woman glared at
Erin. The black octopus lower body turned red with anger. Erin
remembered from the Aquarium that octopi could change color as
camouflage and when startled or angered.
"A mermaid! I should've known!" growled Ursula Thetis, "Now show me
where my boy is before I turn you into bait, bitch!"
"Uh, he's in this cup!" Erin said holding it out in her trembling hand
toward the sea witch.
She snatched it from Erin, and cradled it with both here hands, and
began to sob. Then she got angry. She grit her teeth, and murmured,
"He kissed you!"
