Mark kept heading for the boat and the freedom of the sea. He kept to the path , only
veering
off it to hide when he heard a noise , or thought he did. Most of the noises were caused by
various animals wandering down the path . Mostly donkeys , but on occasion a cow or
horse.
Even a monkey and a zebra, and all seemingly confused and most with scraps of clothing
about them. Mark doubted that they had started life as the species they were now. As
Mark
continued on down the path he thought of Brenda , but only briefly . She was most likely a
pig
by now, and he wasn't. That seemed to sweep away whatever guilt there might have been.
The trees started to thin out and he could hear the breakers beyond the sand dunes that
appeared before him . Please oh please let that boat still be moored on those old docks.
Mark ran across the dune, and came to the tiny inlet near a rocky overhang jutting from
the
dunes. There was the small boat , but trying to get in it were several anthropomorphic
animals. Half human donkeys and cows, and one large sow with a flowing mane of blonde
hair. Mark squatted sweating, looking at the strange scene and trying to think of his next
move.
