Dani slapped her forehead. "And we were AT a costume shop today! How did we not buy costumes?"
"I don't remember. I know we got these rings, and then we left."
Dani wracked her brain for an answer. "Wait, didn't we have trouble finding a good matching set of costumes?"
"Oh yeah," Sally remembered. "But the guy at the counter said he knew a costume we'd like. Do you know what that was?"
"No, I just remember him saying he had just the thing...and then..." For some reason, Dani's hand lifted up to her face. She glanced at the beautiful ring on her finger. "All we bought were these."
"Weird that we forgot about the costumes...and that we can't even remember what happened now." Sally was scratching her head in puzzlement.
"Well, if that guy DOES have a good costume for us, we should check it out," Dani suggested.
"Yeah, tomorrow. It's getting kinda late."
"Agreed. You hungry?"
"Starving."
Dani and Sally spent their night as if it were any other. They made a satisfying meal, watched some television together, and retired for bed.
The next day, after their long routine of getting ready which included washing and drying their impressive hair, the twins set off to the costume shop.
They entered the familiar store and, not seeing the Santa Claus man at the counter, began browsing the aisles. Just like yesterday, neither of them could find a pair of costumes that seemed right.
