Recon Group One was making its way deep into the woods searching out a branch of the infected water that terminated at a small lake. Where, of course, there was a small camp ground. The mission of Recon One was simple asses the infection rate along the water way, collect samples, tag any infected with small radio tags (which they carried in small hand held guns to shoot targets with), and find out how many humans had been infected in the camp ground. So far the labs had assigned any mutated humans to highest priority of danger. Infected humans had the full sue of their intellect; it was assumed the anthropomorphics from animal stock would not be able to use their mental faculties to their full advantage for at least a few days. The mutated humans though would be the greatest risk of breaking quarantine and the wall of silence.
Recon Group One was led by Jane Ivans a strict Nordic woman with a severe face and no nonsense attitude. Under her command were seven men. Jane had ascended to power from her sheer toughness. The men feared her and acted very carefully near her for fear of her sheer attitude and wrath.
They had reached the camp ground and found a few tents. Both ripped and damaged and sets of cloths also ripped apart and one outfit frighteningly enough folded neatly on a rock. It was obvious the infection had gotten every camper here. Fortunately there were few tents.
“Okay people, here is the drill. I’m breaking you seven apart your mission is to go into the woods and find any anthropomorphic creatures you can. Tag them but do not approach. They are highly dangerous as you can see. I realize that it breaks standard rules to break a team apart but I have been given orders to do so, so our report can reach the labs quickly. We meet back here in one hour. Move it.” Said Jane Ivans
