Morpho paces along the stage, working the audience. Meanwhile, you stand in one spot, feeling a little nervous and wondering what you got yourself into. It wasn't like you had a choice, as if staying in your seat was really an option? As nervous as you were now, the ensuing public humiliation if you had indeed stayed in your seat would have been far, far worse.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, my magic is all based in the idea of transformation. I know what you're thinking, he's going to use curtains and boxes and swap stuff out, ooh, ahh, and all that, right?" said Morpho, as he continued to pace the stage. He paused for a little dramatic tension. "Well, you'd be wrong. I'm using you, the audience, strictly voluntary of course, as my subjects. Everything will be shown here, on stage, in bright lighting. I have nothing to hide."
Morpho walks over to you. "Now then, I have a few questions for our first volunteer before we transform him."
"Okay," you mutter, still nervous.
"Are you comfortable with your own body?" asked Morpho.
You think about this for a few moments before honestly answering with a simple "Yes."
"Hmmm..." he says, "Most people say no. Tell me, have you ever secretly fantasized about turning into something else?"
"Well, yeah, sure," you respond.
"Anything in particular?" he asks.
"A bunch of different things, really," you respond. "Like a werewolf, a dragon, a satyr, a centuar, a minotaur..."
Morpho turns to the audience and smiles. "How would you like to turn into one of those things tonight?"
"Umm...sure, why not?" you reply, not believing for a second it was possible. "Just make it something cool, I want to give them a good show."
"Oh don't worry, you will," replies Morpho, as he waves his wand over you and utters a spell in what sounds like Latin.
You feel a big chill go down your spine and your heart starts beating faster in panic. This can't be real, can it, you wonder.
