"How was I supposed to know Mrs.Gremlie wasn't
an alien? She looks so weird and smells like fish."
reasons Martin.
"That's true and all but did you have to break into
her house and try to take her head off!?" argues
Jack, "because of you, we have to spend the next
three hours in the creepy Spelstrom place."
Martin Winston had made a bet with a few other
kids that he could prove that their teacher was an
alien. The loser would have to spend three whole
hours in the old Spelstrom place. Jack Ferral was
his best friend in the world and they did everything
together so naturally he was stuck with Martin in
this.
Martin and Jack grew up together from birth
because their moms were also close friends. They
had done everything together and were practically
brothers, they were even born at the same time, in
the same hospital, in the same room.
Martin had always been very adventurous and
always got into trouble. Jack on the other hand
was a bit of a scaredy cat and had more sense,
but he stuck with Martin through thick and thin.
They were both ten years old and both about four
feet tall. Martin had dirty blond hair and bright blue
eyes. He also had freckles across his nose. He
was pretty average all around. Jack had black hair
with deep brown eyes and glasses. He looked to
be on the thin side and seemed to be curious
about everything but kept his distance. The two
kids are pretty much opposites but that's what
made them inseparable. One balanced out the
other.
"What are you wimps waiting for? Are ya gonna
chicken out?" taunted Teddy. He was the bully in
the neighborhood but was on the pudgy side. He
had brilliant red hair and greenish-brown eyes.
The kid was covered in freckles. He was mean to
everyone but somehow obtained the loyalty of a
few kids.
"We ain't wimps you jerk!" yelled back Martin, "and
we ain't gonna chicken out!"
"I don't know about this Martin, this place gives me
the creeps. And everyone says that this place is
haunted," said Jack.
"Don't worry, I'm gonna keep ya safe!" reassured
Martin, "now let's get this over with or everyones
gonna call us chickens forever."
Martin grabbed Jack's arm and dragged along the
increasingly shaking boy towards Spelstrom
Manor...
