Charmed Battlers

added by loony28 13 years ago O

Our story opens up six months ago underground in a large cavern. In the center of
this cavern is a sphere that glows in a rainbow of colors. All is calm within this cavern
until an earthquake strikes. The sphere falls to the ground and breaks open releasing
streams of light that shoot through the cavern walls and ceiling. Moments after this
people started to find rings that had stones missing from them. These people seemed
to be fascinated by the rings and put them on, usually on their right middle fingers. For
the vast majority of them nothing happened but for some they were transformed. Soon
they discovered the stones that went into the rings and once the stones were placed
within the rings the person wearing the ring was transformed into something else. They
soon figured out that the stones transformed the person into something depending on
what color it was. There were five colors of the stones and they corresponded to the
five elements. Green was for earth, white was for air, red was for fire, blue was for
water, and yellow was for spirit. Each stone had a specific transformation and it
seemed like no two were exactly alike. Once they learned how to transform back they
began to form clubs to battle each other in their transformed states. The rules were
simple, once someone was challenged and they accepted they would battle until one
was forced to transform back due to damage taken. Once one was forced to transform
back the stone they used turned black and would need at least 24 hours before it
could be used again. The challengers could specify a prize they would get if they won
and the challenged could also specify a prize in return before the challenge was
accepted. A world ranking system was set up for both individuals and clubs. Each of
the clubs had at least five people in it, one person specializing in each of the
elements, though most of them had more than that number of members. Of course
there are those that use their rings for criminal purposes.

Present day

We look in on clubhouse of the Charmed Battlers. They were one of the small clubs
having the minimum of five people each specializing in one of the elements.

Sitting at a computer was the club's leader Karen Green. Going by looks alone she
was the oldest one there at fourteen. She has long red hair, green eyes, and she was
white. She was the one that gathered her three friends and adopted sister to form the
club. She specialized in the earth element though she had a spirit and air stone.

Next we have Alex Adler working on a painting. She preferred to be called Alex but
would answer to Alexis since she's intersexed and was raised as a boy before she
started developing. She has short brown hair, hazel eyes, and is of German descent.
She's thirteen and specializes in the air element though she has a spirit stone.

Next we have a Chinese boy named Huang Chu reading a manga. He's the second
generation born in the United States and he can speak, read, and write English,
Chinese, and Japanese. He's thirteen, a couple months younger than Alex, and he has
short black hair and brown eyes. His specialty is the fire element and he doesn't have
any other element stones.

Reading a book we have Ariel Green. She's Karen's adopted sister and appears to be
the youngest of the group at twelve. However she is one of those that were
transformed when she put on her ring. Before she had been a 36 year old man named
Rick. Fortunately she met the Greens shortly after and they agreed to adopt her. She
has long blond hair and blue eyes. Her specialty is the water element though she has a
spirit stone.

Finally we have a black kid named Timothy King fiddling with a broken radio. He's
twelve years old, six months older than Ariel and about to turn thirteen in a couple
days. He has buzzed black hair and brown eyes. His specialty is the spirit element and
he has a stone from each of the other elements.

"I have some news," Karen said over her shoulder to the others.

"What is it?" Ariel asked looking up from her book.

"Probably that we've gone down in the rankings," Tim said not diverting his attention
from the radio.

"Actually we're still ranked the same," Karen said looking a little angry. "We have a
couple of challenges."

"Who's challenging us?" Alex asked starting to clean up having finished her painting.

"We have a challenge from the Shadow Cutters," Karen said bringing up the email.
"Also we have one from the Road Rashers."

Huang looked up from his manga and said, "Both of those clubs have a reputation for
taking a defeated opponent as a trophy."

"Well the Shadow Cutters do want one of us as a trophy should we lose," Karen said
with a long face. "The Road Rashers don't have any conditions. Which one should we
battle?"
