Jordan and Jason walked into the classroom with just a few minutes to spare. Jordan did a quick look around, remembering the creepy feeling he and Jason always got here. The stone walls had weird markings and symbols painted on them with blood. Probably the teacher's Ele had mentioned once.
Jordan then felt a familiar tug on his left side. "Sorry" Jordan says as he turns to face Jason. "This place still gives me the creeps."
Jason looked away, "Not just you." His voice faded away as he started to glance around the room too. "Let's just find our seats, and get this class over with." Jordan nodded in agreement.
Jordan and Jason quickly found their seat between Candice and Alex. Jason set their bag down, as Jordan reached in and grabbed a notebook and pencil each for the two of them. In all of the classes they were taking, this was the only one where their teacher truly treated them... individually.
"Okay Class..." Mr. Darth magically appeared from behind his chair. "What is a... Sorry I almost forgot." He gave Jordan and Jason his famous eerie smile, while drawing his wand from his back pocket. After a quick flick, a flash of grayish light shot from the tip. A distorted window like wall appeared between Jordan and Jason's heads; it ran all the way down the center of their chest and back. "Now... What is a Liken?" Mr. Darth continued.
This was part of the reason why they disliked the class. Mr. Darth forced them to take notes separately, to study separately, and to partner up with different people. Every class, he would place a magical wall between their heads so they couldn't see or hear each other. Both Jordan and Jason agreed they wanted to be treated individually, but they didn't find it too thrilling to be separated like this. Passing answers, hints, or simply talking back and forward was something they always did, and it didn't feel right not to be able to do that.
