Dreams are mysterious things. In them practically anything can happen. Some can be
so much like waking life that it's very hard to distinguish between the dream and
waking life. Others are so strange that it's easy to tell the difference, at least when
one wakes up. Most people never realize that they're dreaming no matter how strange
the dream is when they're dreaming. It's only when they wake up that they realize they
were dreaming if they remember it. There are people however that do know they're
dreaming while they're dreaming. These people tend to control their dreams to some
extent. Then there are those people who not only realize they're dreaming but have a
lot of control over their own dreams and wander the dream world entering other
people's dreams. These people are known as Dream Lords and Ladies.
Dream Lords and Ladies can do basically anything they want to in the dream world.
Some just like to observe the dreams of others while some like to twist other's dreams
in some way. Twisting a dream almost always involves some sort of transformation of
either the dreamer or the people or objects around the dreamer. Some of the Dream
Lords and Ladies did this purely for their own amusement while others did it to punish
the dreamer for whatever reason.
Dream Lords and Ladies usually have a different form in the dream world from what
they have in the waking world. Some are the opposite gender, some are animals, some
are inanimate objects, some are alien looking, some are anthro animals, some are
older or younger, and some are combinations of these.
