Kyle was still asleep when his brother Josh was told to get him for dinner. Josh was only a year older than Kyle, and although they were close in age, they were far apart in other ways. They were always butting heads, and had gotten into a few serious fights with each other, leaving black eyes and bloody noses.
Josh was about to bang on the door, but remembered that one of his belts had gone missing. He imminently thought Kyle had stolen it, like so many times before, and if his brother was asleep with the door unlocked, now would be the prefect time to get it back. He tested the door and it opened without a sound, letting him sneak in without waking his brother. Even with the light off, Josh had no trouble looking around, and quickly found his belt sitting on Kyle's table.
He grabbed his belt, then noticed the little wooden box which contained the left half of the eagle chain. Josh took a look inside, then took the chain. Josh thought it might teach him a lesson if something of Kyle's was stolen. He couldn't help but grin at his little plan of revenge, but as he turned around his food smacked into the table leg with a loud thud.
Kyle sat up in a heartbeat, and glared at his older brother, "What the hell are you doing in my room! Did I say you could come in here?! GET OUT!"
"Did I say you could use MY belt?!" Josh yelled back and waved the belt in the air. "Dad say's dinner is ready. So you might want to get your ass downstairs before I eat it all." Josh turned and marched out of the room slamming the door behind him.
Kyle took a minute to try and calm himself down, and take a few punches at his pillow. He felt like an idiot leaving the door unlocked. The only reason Kyle even took Josh's belt was because Josh had taken Kyle's clothes out of the washing machine and just threw them on the floor.
Kyle pushed the thoughts out of his head, and went to go wash his hands, who knows who else had touched that eagle chain. Kyle froze. The eagle chain... The box wasn't wear he had left it. Josh much have seen it! Kyle ran back to his room, and opened the box. Sure enough, the chain was missing, and Kyle knew exactly who had taken it.
