"I was helping him with some history homework upstairs. Between you and me, he could really use the help." Derek said in their harmonized voice. "But he's catching on really fast." Kel quickly added in their harmonized voice. Derek and Kel were having a struggle for control inside their head.
"What a coincidence. He invited me over so I could tutor him in math." Sharon smiled at them. "If your still busy with him, I can come back later."
Kel tried saying "No" while Derek said "Yes", but all that came out was gibberish. While Sharon gave them a confused look, Kel and Derek argued inside. "What are you doing Derek? I finally get a sort-of date with her and you try pushing her away." Kel said.
"Dude, I was trying to buy us sometime to undo this. You can't have a 'sort-of date' with her if we're in one body. Derek argued back.
"I know that. Just let me do the talking, I'll get us out of this." Kel said, ending the argument. Now adjusting their attention back to Sharon, Kel said, "Sorry, slip of the tongue. I'll go get him." As they turned for the stairs, Kel and Derek bent over and grabbed the spell book from the floor, and continued up the stairs.
________________________________After a few moments, Sharon followed 'Charlie' up stairs; Something didn't seem right about him. As she walked closer to Kel's bedroom, she could hear Charlie talking. It sounded like he was having a conversation with himself.
The door wasn't closed all the way, so she peered through the small opening. All she could see was Charlie sitting on top of Kel's bed, with an open book. She heard him say whatever he was reading out loud in that weird voice of his. When he stopped speaking, Sharon couldn't believe what she saw. Charlie's head literately started to stretch apart. His face started forming into two distinctly different faces, both of which she recognized. With a soft popping noise, there were now two heads on the boy's broadened shoulders, Kel's and Derek's.
