Kel was so excited, he rushed forward, an action that Jake wasn't ready for. The pair tottered back and forth on Jake's leg; each was flapping an arm about trying to keep them balanced. But after a few seconds, they collapsed onto the floor backwards. Kel pleaded, "I'm so sorry Jake... I didn't mean to make us fall."
"Bro, calm down... calm down. It's alright Kel." Jake softly said. Once Kel's breathing slowed down to a more even rate, Jake continued, "Kel, falling is obviously going to be part of the menu until we can better coordinate." Jake waved his right hand in front of them, showing his point. "I can only move my hand and leg. So, we just need to practice a bit before we rush off... or start walking on the tile floor."
Kel smiled back. He tested the movement in his left hand, and quickly realized his brother was right. He could feel their body as if it was his own, but... halfway across their body is where he lost all control. That side belonged to his brother. "So... I guess we need to take it one step at a time." Jake nodded in agreement. So slowly they started moving.
Using the desk in Kel's room for support, they stood back up on their feet. Walking was much harder than standing. Each step was a balancing act, so they used the walls a lot for support. It was hard work re-learning how to walk with someone, but as the time flew by they improved a lot. Taking the stairs required them to use the railing, but once they were on flat ground the no longer needed the support of the wall to walk. But, the occasional trip would still occur.
Sitting themselves down in the couch, Jake grabbed the phone standing next to him. "Okay Kel, I think all that work deserves a little pizza as reward." Kel cheered in response, making his side bounce up and down on the couch. Jake laughed, "Okay, okay... let me call in the pizza then we can dance around."
