A curious feeling begins crawling over your mind…you certainly aren’t high, you hadn’t inhaled that much of the smoke…and yet, a craving begins to develop. You suddenly want to smoke marijuana…wait, no…weed.
Expecting as much, one of the rappers leans over and lights up a new cigar…but you know the name for them now, a blunt. “Aye nigga, hit this shit mayne,” he says.
You grab it and instinctively take a huge hit off the blunt. Your lungs are still virgin so you cough violently, but you took enough to get the job done. You hit the blunt a second time and lean back to relax.
One of them turns up the rap music in the background, and the bass and violent lyrics flood the room enveloping your brain. You start to smirk…this shit is good. You can’t believe he had never listened to rap before. Instinctively, you begin nodding your head in rhythm to the music.
“Look, dis little cracka like dis shit,” one of them laughs.
And you do like it. You like it a lot. The music is marinating your mind and twisting your values…it is becoming a part of you. You know that when you get home you have to delete everything on your computer. Why the fuck would you listen to any of that white shit again? Jazz and country and shit…who likes that?
You stare as the blunt is passed around the circle, practically salivating to get in again. When it finally comes your turn, you inhale deeply to get that precious smoke in your lungs. You cough, but a little less this time.
“You gettin’ the hang of it,” he says. You beam inside…you are so happy to see the looks of pride on all of their faces. You know that you want to please them and be just like them.
