Ty walked through the double doors of his school to find himself impressed a crowded hallway, and as always, his friend Heath was being harassed by some Jack. Jack decided to save his lunch money and use Heath's instead, and of course, Ty was couldn't do anything due to being powerless. But today he had the power, and something surely would be done.
"Hey Jack, leave Heath alone or you'll regret it!" Ty threatened, pushing at Jack. As expected, Jack didn't even budge.
"Hey, hey now, two's a party, but three's a crowd. I don't like crowds." Jack said, which was the same lame thing he always said when anyone was stupid enough to bother with him.
"Well good, maybe I'll just make it where there's only two of us here. Looks like you're gonna go." Ty said, thinking of how to ruin Jack's day - and possibly his life. (I think I should turn him into a little animal, something I can control and humiliate with ease. Now which animal could he b-)
"Hey, little guy, put the nerd down! NOW!" A strong, masculine voice demanded. It was coming from behind Ty; it was so forceful that it made his line of thought spiral and crash.
(Little guy? Is he talking about Jack?) Ty thought.
Ty turned around to see who it was, and found himself craning his neck upwards to look at the fellow who was looming over him. (Holy crap! I guess every guy is considered little to this giant.) 'The Giant' must've been 6'3", and he looked too wide to fit through normal doors. Strong, solid, gigantic, intimidating and he was slightly on the hairy side - all perfect words to describe this masculine beast. He looked rather handsome too, with his intense brown eyes and disheveled blond hair, though most of the lower part of his face was covered with sandy blond stubble. (This guy looks way too old to be a student... There's no way he could be a teacher either! Not looking like that, anyway.)
"Row-Row-Rowan! Bud-ud-udy heeeeeeeey! Whatever you say. I was just helping him up and now I gotta-otta go! Sooooo um... Buh-buh-bye!" Jack stuttered as he fled the area like a frightened rabbit. His expression looked similar to a soon-to-be-murder-victim's in a scary movie.
"Thanks Rowan!" Heath replied, flashing a smile as he fixed his glasses. "Uh oh, I need to get to the library stat. Sorry I can't chat with you today. I'll see you in math class!"
"Uh... It's okay little buddy." Rowan grinned, watching as Heath dashed off down the hall. Then he turned his attention to Ty. "Oh you're one of Heath's nerdy little friends. I'm Rowan! Nice to meetcha!"
"Nerdy?" Ty repeated, he felt like turning Rowan into a tiny animal or something equally crushable at that moment. His anger was clearly visible, even Rowan the airhead could notice it.
"Oh I'm sorry..." Rowan sulked, taking a note of Ty's anger. Then he tried to perk up and change the subject quickly. "What's your name?"
"Ty. Call me Ty."
"Okay little buddy, Ty it is!" Rowan exclaimed, flashing that grin again as he gave Ty a few light pats on the back. Though 'light' to Rowan would be considered 'hard' to most.
Ty couldn't quite put his finger on what was wrong with Rowan. Ty first thought he was 'special', but that couldn't be the case considering he was in Heath's math class - which was actually a class for Seniors and above average Juniors or Sophmores. Maybe he was just oblivious to what's the right thing to say and what's not.
"So yeah, Rowan was it? You must be pretty smart if you're in Heath's class." Ty commented, hoping to get more information. "What grade are you in anyway?
"I'm in the 12th grade and um... I'm not that smart. Heheh, I'm kinda dumb." Rowan replied while still grinning, which was odd to say the least. "But it's okay. I'm not smart, but I'm strong. I can help nerds and little guys like you when you get bullied."
Ty was able to sum Rowan up now. He was the classic, energetic, lovable oaf. Or in this case, the classic, lovable, energetic behemoth. (I guess he's not all bad.)
"Hey Rowan, wanna come help me study? I don't feel like going to my first class."
"Me? Help you study?" Rowan said, his grin somehow growing wider. He probably thought it was a huge compliment. "Yeah! I didn't want to go to first class either. Like I'd even pass it."
"Okay then, let's go to the locker room through the pool area. Nobody would be there so it's nice and quiet. Perfect for studying." Ty said. Though the thing he would be studying is his powers, with Rowan as the guinea pig. He wasn't going to do anything bad, actually, he thought about giving Rowan a reward of sorts for helping Heath.
"I'll follow ya!" Rowan replied, STILL grinning.
(Geez this guy is like a ball of energy. Wait, scratch that, he's like a super nova. But... He's still seems like a nice guy... So far.)
