"Well, that's a poser," Matt said.
"What's the problem?" you ask, worried.
"Well, mate, I've been here 16 years and never went to that part of the island."
"Why did you mark it then?"
"Did I? Oh, sorry 'bout that," he apologized. "Did you still want to go?"
"Sure, why not try something new?"
"Alright then, let's go!" he exclaimed, sounding like an excited kid.
Seeing as the main building was the center hub for the island, all major facilities were
located here. While there were small villages sprinkled throughout the island, most of
them were not as high tech.
However, each section of the island was connected by a bullet train system. Matt led
you to the station where the two of you got on the train to Crystal Forest.
The train ride took less than five minutes to cross the large island, depositing you in
the middle of a dense conifer/deciduous forest.
You wondered how it got the name "Crystal Forest", but you soon saw why. The barks
of the trees were glittering with bits of crystal as well as the ground and rocks. Every
once in a while, you saw a large crystal formation jutting out of the ground. The whole
forest sparkled and shimmered, making it hard to concentrate on one spot too long.
"Wow!" Matt said amazed, breaking the silence, "This is amazing!"
"Yeah, it's like some queer got ahold of body glitter and made a bomb with it!"
"Hey," Matt said, sounding insulted, "Watch the gay jokes."
"Oh, sorry, I didn't realize..."
"Ah, no worries, mate, not like you knew. And don't worry, I'm only attracted to other
anthros. Why do you think I became one?"
"Makes sense. Anyway, let's check this place out!"
"Hold it!" a deep voice came from behind you, "Before you go, listen to my advice."
The voice turned out to be that of a wolf. Not anthro, like Matt, but talking none the
less. However, it seemed more mental than vocal to you.
"These woods are home to an assortment of creatures. Animals (both anthro and
non), magical creatures, and monsters. But most of all, this is the realm of fairies and
sprites. They do not usually cause harm unless their forest is in danger. However, they
do enjoy being mischievous. So watch your backs. Good luck."
With that the wolf lept off and disappeared into the forest.
"Well that was...awkward," Matt said after a long silence.
"Okay then, let's check this place out, carefully."
