Emily quickly pulled her jeans back on as her stomach rumbled urging her to hurry along. She went to the dining table to find Cara had already made short work of her first steak and was already beginning on her second. A small stream of meat juice running down her chin that she lazily lapped at, exposing canines whose length was now definitely longer than before and perhaps a bit sharper to boot. Her plate had nothing else on it besides the barely cooked meat. After all, she had no desire to eat anything else and Emily couldn't agree more.
As Emily sat down at the table, the newfound growth that her panties could no longer contain gave her an unexpected and scratchy sensation, yet not entirely unpleasant. She began feeling a sort of sensory overload as if all of her senses had been dialed up to 11. Her skin was sensitive with sensations equal parts itchy and tingly. Her nose was inundated with the smell of the steaks, the cleaning products in the kitchen, the laundry detergent in the closet, even the scent of her roommate. Her vision seemed sharper as she was able to read even the smallest of notes on the fridge. Her ears were picking up on sounds around the apartment she'd never even noticed such as the electrical buzzing from every appliance. That, plus she felt distracted as though there were voices in her head. It took her a moment to realize she wasn't going crazy but was actually hearing her neighbors Veronica and Leigh talking in the apartment across the hall. She was positively dizzy with distractions until finally the smell of the ribeyes rose above the din.
Her budding fangs made tearing through the meat a breeze and after her first bite, she felt it almost impossible to stop until she had devoured both of her steaks greedily. Neither roommate even gave the other a second glance as they went about their business of eating. In fact, once the meat was gone, they both found themselves involuntarily licking the final remnants of juices from their plates. As if on cue, both suddenly realized what they were doing and set down their plates hurriedly, making eye contact for the first time with nervous chuckles when they both realized the other had seen. Cara obviously and understandably more embarrassed than Emily.
"Heh, I guess neither of us liked the food, huh." Cara said in a half-hearted attempt to cover the awkward situation with humor. If only she realized they were both beyond the need for decorum at this point. Her sheepish expression seemed all the more comical in combination with her increasingly feral features. Features that Emily was noticing on her friend for the first time since returning to the apartment. She noted that Cara's long hair was now also becoming longer and more unruly with the slight widows peak just like hers. Emily could also make out the tips of her friend's pointed ears peeking just barely out of her hair. Her freshly-waxed eyebrows were now in bad need of an emergency salon appointment. Even the normally invisible, downy hair on he cheeks had thickened and darkened a bit. Like it or not, her friend's innocent touch of the magic blossom had left her with the mark of the wolf as well. And this was only the beginning for both of them.
"Hey sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do. We're all friends here, right?" Emily offered. She no longer had any reason to feel jealous or angry at Cara, leaving her only with feelings of sympathy and maybe even regret. This was kind of her fault after all.
"Yeah I guess so... I mean, right, of course!" Then changing the subject, "So since I cooked, how about you be a dear and do the dishes while I go take a shower and finally get these babies nice and smooth again." She said gesturing gracefully with a slightly hairy hand to her shapely legs which she was always so proud of showing off as her best asset. The girl had possibly more skirts in her closet than most small countries.
And before Emily could even think of a response, Cara was heading off to the bathroom, scratching the fuzz on her cheek as she went.
