As Ryan walked through the grey spillage, it didn't escape his notice that he was gradually having more difficulty taking a step further. He glances down to find his the grey liquid had coated his shins and seemed to be rising up his legs of its own volition.
Instictively, Ryan tried to take off only to find his feet firmly planted to the ground but the force of the failed flight caused him to lose balance and collapse onto his knees and as his hands came in contact with the ground they too became stuck and struggling with all his might he could not remove his hands from the floor even as the ooze rose up the wrist to cover his arms.
A clattering laughter shifted his attention, but continued his fight for freedom. His gaze falls upon the source of the laughter, a lean, humanoid figure with a glossy leaf green pallour, his helmet had two large green, oval domes on either side with a small glowing dot of red in the centre of each dome that made them look like giant insect eyes with a stunning, piercing gaze. Another figure, broader and with a bristling segmented beard was leaning over a metal bannister, he was shimmering ebony and appeared to be wearing a large tan trenchcoat and an odd set of spectacles which looked as if they were made up of eight different sized monocles welded together.
"Who are you?" demanded to captive hero, spitting out some ooze that had managed to get past his lips.
The broader figure's strangely segmented beard quivered and writhed, as Ryan kept wriggling, the ooze now forcing him down to his elbows.
"We have come a long way to find strong prey!" wheezed the bearded one, "we must find out which of us is the greatest of Arthropian predators!"
Ryan's body from the neck down was now completely engulfed with the ooze, which now took on a glossier look. He found even the slightest twitch of his muscles impossible in the hardening goop.
"Prey?" he inquired, with little other course of action, he thought it best to know more of the situation he found himself in...
