By long standing tradition, the school's cheerleading squad had a special way of adding recruits. Any new girl who wanted to join had to be sponsored by a current
squad member. It was their way of keeping out any student with the wrong background or any other undesirable feature. It had worked for decades, and even in
these modern times, it still keep the cheerleading squad exactly as they wanted it. That is, until Jennifer sponsored Suki Takamura.
By the time Jennifer had gotten dressed and arrived at school, she had dismissed the phone call as a ridiculous moronic prank. But then Suki asked her for help in
joining the cheerleading squad. Suki had moved here from Japan recently. She spoke english well and was pretty, but obviously she wasn't someone who could
ever be added to the cheerleading squad. Jennifer was about to rudely brush her off when to her horror, she agreed instead.
Needless to say, it was not fun for Jennifer at the next meeting of the squad. Since the laws assumed that no one undesirable would ever be sponsored, there
wasn't any way for the other cheerleaders to prevent it. Jennifer couldn't be swayed, as much as she wanted to be. Suki was made a cheerleader. While this made
Jennifer an instant best friend to Suki, it made the rest of the cheerleaders furious.
"What were you thinking?" Dawn yelled at Jennifer in private after the meeting. "You made that little slant-eyed Sucky one of us!"
"It's.. it's difficult to explain why," Jennifer replied. "I didn't have a choice. I didn't want to!"
"Yeah? Well I'll tell you what I want to do. I want to find a way to get you and sushi girl both kicked off the squad! And I will too!"
Jennifer was shocked. "Dawn! You can't mean it. Me?"
