Fenrir Ulman was determined to enjoy his first day of vacation in ToonWorld. This was
his last oppurtunity for a holiday before he went to college. After senior year, he had
used most of his saved money in order to take a week's vacation in ToonWorld.
Fortunately, he had received a full scholarship for his outstanding artistic abilities, so
his vacation wouldn't affect his going to college. Besides, what better place to study art
than in a world full of cartoons? His first night had been spent in the acclimation zone.
That was where your body adjusted to the different physics of ToonWorld. He hadn't
been able to try anything until he was fully adjusted; but in just an hour, Fen would be
allowed to be run over by a steamroller and get right back up.
Later—after the usual tourist habit of maiming themselves in every imaginable way—
Fen decided to find a local to show him the highlights of ToonWorld. He was looking
through the crowds of toons, searching for just the right guide, when he saw something
that surprised him. A character he recognized as something he drew a couple years
ago was standing outside a bar across the street. What amazed Fen was the fact that
that character had never been animated. It had been just a single drawing. Obviously,
anything drawn was instantly copied to ToonWorld.
This particular character was one of Fen's favorites. He had been assigned to draw an
anime-like character doing something that required an unusual pose. Fen had chosen
to draw a wolf spirit in human form fighting a dragon. The wolf-man was more human
than wolf. He was a boy of about 16 with short blonde hair and blue eyes. His lithe,
muscular body was adorned with a white tunic and a sword hilt hung from his waist.
His yellow wolf ears and tail poked out from his hair and clothes. Fen had named the
wolf spirit Rune and had always thought of him as someone he would like to meet.
Now was his chance to come face to face with his art. Sure enough, when he
approached his creation, he saw his signature that had been scrawled along the side
of his tunic.
"Rune!" he called out the the wolf-boy.
"Hello, stranger, I don't believe I've had the pleasure of meeting you," he greeted
kindly, "But obviously you know of me. How so?"
"I'm the one who drew you. I'm Fenrir Ulman."
"You're my creator?" he asked in disbelief and proceeded to bow to the artist. "I never
thought I would meet you, sir! Every toon dreams of the day they will meet their artist."
"Hey, Rune, I was wondering if maybe you could show me around ToonWorld."
"I would be honored, sir."
So the artist and his creation walked off to explore ToonWorld. What will happen next?
