"What?" Dawn asked with a laugh.
"Transform or dare," Jennifer repeated. If Dawn was going to turn on her, then she would show her. "Which one do you choose?"
"First you sponsor that little jap girl to be a cheerleader, now you want to play silly games," said Dawn. "I'll tell you what I choose. I choose to have you kicked off the squad. I don't understand you anymore, Jen."
"You will," Jennifer replied with a knowing smile. "Since you don't choose either one, I get to use both. I'll start with the transform. I don't like Suki anymore than you do, but I have to support her. If you are gonna try to kick me off the squad for sponsoring a japanese girl, then I transform you into a japanese girl, one even smaller than Suki."
Dawn had heard enough and turned to go. "You're crazy," she said, but as she reached for the doorknob, she felt odd. Her hand shook and... was shrinking? "What's... going on?" she asked. Out of the corner of her eye, her strawberry blonde hair was turning raven black. No, it couldn't be! In a moment of panic, Dawn opened her purse and pulled out her compact mirror. Over the next minute, Dawn watched in speechless horror as her body and features changed to japanese. When it was over, she stood there with her clothes hanging loose on her small, willowy frame. Her bra was now empty. And the still smiling Jennifer was at least half a foot taller than Dawn.
"Still think I'm crazy?" Jen asked smugly.
"Wha... what did you do to me?" Dawn demanded to know. "This can't be! Change me back!"
"It's that old town legend," Jennifer explained. "I didn't believe it either until some geek used it on me. He dared me to support the next person I would have normally rejected for the squad. That turned out to be Suki. That's why I couldn't explain. No one would have believed me. Except, I think you believe me now, don't you?"
"Yes yes! Anything! Just change me back!"
"I can't do that," Jen continued calmly, realizing she was enjoying Dawn's look of panic. "I already used the transformation part. All I have left is the dare. And I think I know exactly how to use it. I dare you from now on to only speak simple, broken english with a thick stereotypical japanese accent and to only refer to yourself as... uhhmmm... Yuriko." It was the first japanese name Jen could think of.
"What? Prease, you no can do that." Dawn's eyes went wide and she gasped as she realized what Jen had done to her. No only did she look japanese, but she had now lost control of her speech! "No! Prease! Yuriko is not named Yuriko. Yuriko's name is... is... ahhhya! Cannot say name! How courd you do this to Yuriko? Prease fix!"
"How could you turn against me?" Jennifer countered. "Less than five minutes ago you were ready to kick me off the cheerleading squad. Well, now you are the one who won't be cheerleading anymore. You'll be lucky if you can convince anyone you're really Dawn. As for fixing it, I can't. The curse has passed to you now."
"Yuriko use curse on Jen!" she said angrily.
Jennifer remained calm. "You could. You could change me. Then I change you again. Back and forth until we are both twisted wrecks. But that won't get you back to normal. You'll still be stuck as Yuriko for the rest of your life. And won't you have a lot of fun if I call Immigration. A japanese girl with no papers or identity, one who can barely speak 'engrish'. But there is a chance. If you use the curse on me, then change me *exactly* the way I say, then I'll have it again. And I might be persuaded to change you back into Dawn. Maybe."
