"I'll try! Okay, okay, I'll try!" said Vinnie, his feet dangling off the ground.
"GOOD," said Carter. He dumped Vinnie to the floor and, without thinking, hurled Ryan full force at Vinnie's chest.
"CHANGE ME BACK! PLEASE!" mouthed the jockstrap silently.
"Okay, okay," said Vinnie nervously. He fingered a gold chain around his neck. "I think...If I just... Umm. Ryan, I wish for you to be human again."
The jockstrap in Vinnie's hand didn't move.
"Uhh...that didn't work. How about...I WANT you to be human again, Ryan Standish."
Still nothing. "Come on, kid, you've gotta change me back" thought Ryan, holding his breath.
"What if I...touch the amulet to Ryan...er...the jockstrap. Ryan Standish, become human!"
Ryan held his breath and closed his eyes. When he opened them again, he was still made of mesh and elastic, resting in the palm of Vinnie's hand, looking up at a very frightened-looking nerd.
"Guys, I don't think...I don't think I can do this."
"Whaddya mean you can't do this?" said Horst. "You're the one who changed Ryan in the first place!"
"I know, I know, but...I think...I think I need to ask my Grandmama."
Horst and Carter paused.
"Your GRANDMAMA?"
"My grandmother, yes. She..." Vinnie chose his words carefully. "She may know how to undo this. I need to take Ryan to my house."
"What? Why should we trust you?" demanded Horst. He reached out and quickly grabbed Ryan back before Vinnie knew what was happening. "You got your jollies WEARING Ryan, then you left him in the lost and found, then he wound up here. You HATE Ryan Standish--how can we possibly believe you're gonna HELP him?? You're probably just going to use him to jack off on once you get him home and keep him as some kind of sick trophy!"
"Yeah," Carter piped in. "We're not letting Ryan out of our sight until he's back to normal."
"I'm telling you guys!" said Vinnie. "You have to trust me here!"
"Whaddya think Ryan?" asked Horst looking down at the faint face of Ryan Standish from the mesh pouch of the jockstrap. "Should we?"
