Ty went downstairs and sat at the table, awaiting breakfast. June went
to the bottom of the stairs and called up to Dustin. A few moments
later, Dustin came downstairs. He seemed to be back to normal. Dustin
sat at his seat. June brought to food to the table and Dustin
immediately dug right in. Ty saw this as the perfect time to test out
his last wish. Ty wished that his foster parents would shut up and let
him mess with Dustin.
"Dustin! What do you think you're doing!" shouted Ty.
"What do you mean," said Dustin, "I'm eating breakfast, what the hell
does it look like?"
"That's not how you eat breakfast!" said Ty. "You're doing it all
wrong!"
Dustin immediately believed Ty.
"I am?" asked Dustin. "What am I doing wrong? Please tell me!"
"Alright. I'll help you." said Ty.
"You will?" said Dustin, relieved. "Thanks, man."
"First of all, why are you using that silverware? Silverware is not
used for breakfast." explained Ty. "You need to pick up the food with
your hands."
"Next, you're not supposed to be wearing a shirt. You need to take it
off." Dustin did so.
"Now, pick up your food and caress it against your torso. Then you can
eat it." said Ty, trying desperately to contain his laughter. "Really,
that's only basic table manners. How could you forget something like
that?"
"I don't know what came over me." said Dustin, eating his waffles and
scrambled eggs the way Ty had instructed, not thinking for a moment
that there was anything odd with this picture. "Thanks for helping me
remember. It would have been embarrassing if anyone had seen me eating
like I was."
"Not a problem, Dustin." said Ty, with more stifled laughs. Ty's wish
to make Dustin believe anything he was told seemed to have gone off
without a hitch. Ty began thinking of other things to have Dustin
believe. All Ty knew at the moment was that this was going to be one
fun school day.
