In return for the significant funding the government demanded one other thing from this
wretched group: a weapon powerful enough to neutralize any threat both foreign and
domestic en mass. Yes, they had nuclear bombs but they wanted a new super weapon, a
more subtle weapon that disabled large threats without killing them and while leaving them
in a semi-useful state.
This enigma stumped the scientists for some time. No conventional solution could solve
this problem, no science fiction liquefier would do. Ultimately the scientists turned back to
their recent creation, the chips. They worked day and night to increase its potency and
reach and finally created the ultimate weapon by combining the pure transformation
energy with a large crystal: Dionysus.
However, a few rational heads among the government and scientist intervened because
they realized that the plan was to ludicrous to be useful. So, some modifications were
made until the entire committee was satisfied with the new weapon.
This weapon was capable of firing upon any area on the globe and transforming it
completely to the specifications put in the remote. It was also make into a smaller unit that
could be carried into battle or by a single person to transform smaller targets such as a
single building or a single person without harming any innocent bystanders.
The weapon slowly transformed the targets. A country possessing nuclear technology that
refused to cooperate could be reduced to a nomadic tribe, a crack house could be turned
into an athletic center, a thief could be turned into an infant. Its power and potential were
limitless, anyone who stood against its owners would find their very mind altered.
Typically, memories were not erased as this was supposed to be a punishment but in one
form or another, they were rendered incapable of organizing a rebellion.
The scientists hesitantly turned their vile creation over to their sponsors who wasted no
time. The weapon was launched into Earth’s orbit and the public were told it was just a
communications satellite; how foolish they can be.
Preparations are complete, what will be the first target?
