A flush went through him as Felis felt the weight of all those eyes upon him. Not one for being called a “scared cat” he still felt as if ice water had been poured down his back. The cries of dismay that arose from the crowd would normally thrill him. Now, though, they just made him even more embarrassed. He ran through the deep blue curtains into the backstage area, pushing aside the smaller dancers who had just been about to go onstage before the surprise assault. Shoving Max -an equine who was nearly his equal, aside- he realized that he was already a foot taller than he was that morning.
Max looked stunned and gave a snort of surprise and approval at Felis’ new stature.
Felis ignored him.
His huge paws pounding against the floor, he boomed through the extra-large staff entrance and into the alley behind the club. There, in the warm, tropical night air, he stopped. He leaned against the opposite brick wall -hands on his knees- and tried to calm his breathing. His huge endowment was starting to hurt: squeezed by small loincloth.
He was about to remove it when a shout got his attention. It came from a trio of club attendees at the fenced-off end of the alley.
“Hey! You okay?” The striped tabby leading the other two looked honestly concerned. He was small -everyone was small to Felis- and had large, blue eyes.
The other two were a male fox with an abnormally long tail and a rather buxom, female rabbit. The rabbit was struggling with her endowments (probably recently acquired, given how she still seemed to be adjusting to climbing over the fence with them) and had probably just arrived on the island.
Felis groaned. Fans. This was the last thing he needed.
He turned to go in the opposite direction towards the other fenced in section to which he and the other performers had keys. “Please: leave me alone...”
“That guy: he attacked you!”
Felis didn’t need to turn to know it was the rabbit speaking.
“Yeah, well, I’m dealing with it...”
“The hell you are,” came a third voice. It had to be the fox. “You’re bigger than ever! I take it that’s not part of the act?”
Felis stopped and turned around. “‘Part of the act’?” he echoed. “Are you serious?” The three anthropomorphs looked so small, now. He must have gained another foot. He gulped and shook his head. “Why would you think that?”
The tabby drew up next to Felis, looking up at him wide-eyed. “Well, we only just arrived,” he said. “And -well- that’s what most of the people inside are saying. Part of the act...”
Felis scowled. “No,” he said. “It wasn’t. Excuse me.” With that, he turned back to the other alley exit.
“You should see a doctor,” the rabbit said to him. “I mean, maybe they can stop this.”
Felis reached the gate and sighed, resting his forehead against its top. “Or an alchemist,” he said, sullenly. “Half the changes on this Island are super-science and the other half are magic. God only knows which one this is...”
“Let us help you,” the fox said.
Felis felt a small hand on his thigh. He looked back and down. The fox was short for an anthro and the tiger’s thigh was about the only thing he could reach. There was honest concern on the long-tailed fox’s face. The other two nodded and stood beside him. Several more stitches popped on Felis’ thong and he felt his monstrous sex about to painfully burst free from its confinement.
