She paused, then smiled at me, looking both sheepish and seductive. "Because a lot of...CHANGES have happened
since we got divorced. Namely, me becoming one."
I laughed somewhat hesitantly. "Ooohhhkaaaayy.." I said, my voice full of disbelief. I couldn't help but admit
that this was more than a little bit of a turn-on in the back of my mind. Like I said, I'd kind of had a thing
for werewolves for years, but they'd always remained in the realm of horror movies. Of course, she could be
fucking with me.
"I'm not kidding," she told me, sounding both defensive and pleading, as though she both felt the need to
convince me, but was hurt that I didn't accept her words at face value. "I would have thought you'd realize
that. I mean...after all we've been through, do you REALLY think I'd make some silliness up like this if it
wasn't true?"
She had a point. Still, it all seemed too weird to be true. I mean..everything we've ever been taught is that
werewolves are people with either a mental disorder or an unfortunate hair growth gene and nothing more. My ex
was a shockingly intelligent woman. This certainly wouldn't be like her to make shit up.
"So..uhh, sorry..you have to admit that it's a lot to take in and accept on faith, babe," I told her.
She nodded. "No, I get that. Just..don't dismiss it offhand, okay? I'll be more than happy to prove it to you.
It's a full moon tonight. In a couple hours, you're going to find out whether I'm telling the truth or if I'm
barking mad."
I snickered. "Barking mad? That's a good one." But she had a point. While part of me wanted to leave, sure she
was either totally nuts or totally setting me up for some strangely elaborate prank or revenge scheme, the
rest of me knew there was little reason to leave. I mean, if she WAS messing with me, I'd know in a couple
hours, like she pointed out.
"I can smell that you're a little turned on at the thought," she said, smirking slightly as I shifted
uncomfortably. "And your heart rate sped up a bit when I told you. If I didn't know better, I'd say you're
hoping I'm not nuts."
"Well.." I paused. It was certainly odd how confidently she was able to call me out on that. "It would be kind
of neat to see.."
She growled low, leaning in and nipping my neck and earlobe. "NEAT isn't exactly the reaction I was hoping
for, lover.." I shivered, getting hard at her feral demeanor. She smiled widely. "That's more what I was
looking for."
"So, how exactly DID you become a werewolf?" I asked. "I mean, you certainly weren't one when we were
married."
"Yeah, I think you would have noticed that," she said with a giggle. "It's a bit of a long story. I mean, we
have time..but you sure you want to hear it?"
