Jeffrey would never finish that statement, as Igna shouted "Incoming!" as a squadron of a dozen flying succubi came down upon the small party.
Dana's wing moved swiftly to wrap around Jeffrey, protecting him from the savage claws and teeth of the demonness soldiers. The demon princess raised her hands in a complex series of gestures, and the leading edge of the succubus squadron fell to the ground. Eodora pounced on a fallen soldier and ripped out her throat. Igna was summoning lightning bolts that struck some of the remaining fliers, while Lisa emptied her gun and drew her sword as the survivors landed for an attack.
The Amazon moved faster than seemed humanly possible, as her sword cleaved heads from bodies and wings from shoulders. A succubus who moved behind Lisa was struck to the ground by a magical attack from Igna as she raised her mace, and another magical attack sent the last succubus, who was attempting to escape, to the ground in a deep slumber. The battle was over in less than a minute.
Dana released Jeffrey and revived the last surviving succubus soldier, the one Igna had put to sleep. "Go" she told the terrified succubus "tell Astara that this isn't her world and never was. Tell her that a Princess of Hell is coming for her. Tell that if she flees, she might live." The succubus flew off.
Dana went to each succubus corpse and touched it while muttering an incantation. As she did so, each changed. To an old man, a young girl, a middle-aged lady, a teenage boy, an infant--the forms they had originally possessed before Astara's demonic magic had worked on them. A spasm of regret covered the Princess's face, and a tear fell from her eye. "Sorry, so sorry." she whispered. "Astara will pay."
"I don't think I want to live here." Jeffrey said. "Can I go live on Igna's world?"
