Martha Stuart loved country estate sales. Most people wouldn't drive an hour or two to get the bargains she knew she'd find. Oh, the farmers would be there buying up livestock and equipment, and maybe an item or two for their home, but they'd miss the Dresden china, antiques and rare books.
Voila! Here was one in a box marked $1.00.
"One Dollar for this book?" She asked the man handling the sale, holding up a first edition Shakespeare Folio.
"Nope, it's a dollar for that box of books. If you want one, I guess it'd be a quarter."
"No, I'll take the box. Could you help me carry it to my car?" She handed him the dollar. Even if it was a later edition, it would be worth hundred, it was at least 300 years old, she was sure.
Who knew what books, she might find stacked below the folio. The worthless ones she'd give to students as prizes at the school spelling bee on Monday.
The book rode back into the city with the school teacher/bargain hunter.
