Mary does her best to get through to Jess, but in the end Jess seems to be more enthralled with being mated than remembering who she was.
Mary goes home that night and tries to sleep, which proves near impossible, she needs to get things back to normal. The next day she goes back to the farm and finds out that Jess is now most likely pregnant with a foal from the farm hand, as this stallion has extremely potent cum for some reason and having been mated all day and night yesterday, there seems to be very little chance that shes not. Going home to Jess's parents, Mary tells them that Jess ran away sometime during the night, when Jess was sleeping over Mary's house. They are upset and alert the authorities, who cannot find any trace of Jess. They get a statewide search going but to no result. Mary feels extremely bad about lying the way she did but it was either lie or get thrown into the loony bin because of the story about her friend becoming a horse.
Mary visits Jess daily over the course of the year, finally after 11 months, Jess has her baby foal, a female foal which Mary names April. After a while the foal is mature enough in nature that she no longer has to nurse, and Mary decides to try to get Jess back to normal. She buys a large carrot and hollows out the inside of it as much as possible, and pours the human vial contents inside and seals it shut. Sneaking into the farm late at night she wakes up Jess and coaxes her to eat the carrot. After she consumes the carrot, Jess falls back to sleep and the changes begin to occur, slowly shrinking back down to a human form. Mary wraps her into a blanket and puts her into the car she drove down with, and sneaks her into Mary's house and puts her into her parents bed, who were out of town for the weekend. Mary waits with anticipation, hoping that her friends mind will return to normal.
Early that morning, Jess opens her eyes groggily, and sees Mary next to her dozed off in a chair. Jess wakes Mary up as she begins to sit up in the bed. Mary says cautiously, "Jess, is that you?" and Jess replies "Boy did I have the strangest dream, I dreamed I drank a magic vial and it turned me into a horse!" Tears begin to form in Mary's eyes as she throws her arms around Jess and begins crying extremely hard. "It wasn't a dream, you've been a horse for over a year now, you got pregnant with a baby foal and I wasn't sure how the vials would react with a baby in the mix." Jess doesn't respond as she stares out into space realizing that the dream she had was real, and that Mary had left her there as a horse with a stallion. Mary continues, "I told your parents you had ran away, I'm sorry it was stupid and I shouldn't have done something like that but I was afraid they would lock me up, I'll make this up to you, whatever you want, just name it."
After Mary tells Jess the whole story, they go to see Jess' daughter, April, who seems to be quite lonely and looking for her mother. Jess also goes home to see her parents, making up some story about where she had been for over a year, her parents are so happy she is back and alive that they don't really care what happened. Eventually Jess heads back over to Mary's house and after being let in, says to Mary, "Well, at least I'm back to being human, I can't believe its been that long, it seems like just yesterday you showed me those vials. We need to get April out of there and bring her back and see if we can help her. But I am still pretty angry at you, I think you owe me a transformation for a while, so you can see how it feels to be an animal for a while, it wasn't as bad as you think, but I still think you should experience it yourself." Mary nods in somber agreement, "Ok, what kind of animal do you want me to be?" as she goes to get the stash of vials that she had hidden away inside her room.
