"I think I want to be a pilot.", Paul said as he stepped back from Tag after handing him the V-Pet.
Tag pressed the download button and sure enough his friend appeared as a digital version inside device.
Entering the menu he selected the clothes. He went for a brown leather jacket with a few pockets, lighter brown leather pants, black steel capped boots, gloves as well as a leather pilot's cap with goggles.
Tag exited the menu and Paul came to life again. Looking over himself he smiled, as he stroked over his tight leather pants, "Hmm, not bad, but where's my plane?" He grinned winking.
His friend replied, "I'll see what I can do." and entered the menu again. He found a menu named "Special". "Wow" he thought as he found an interesting option, "RC-plane".
From several models he selected a Mustang P-51 and hit "Restore".
Quickly Paul and the remote reformed. It was next to him and as he tried to pick it up a jolt of electricity seemed to hit him. Thinking it was only a static discharge he tried again with the same result.
"What's the matter?", Tag asked. "I can't seem to pick it up.", Paul replied while Tag effortlessly picked up the remote, "That's strange.".
The remote control looked fairly normal. Apart from two prominent joysticks it also had an array of switches and dials. Most of them seemed to be the normal controls for an RC-plane, but some seemed to be a bit of the unusual. Tag read out the labels, "Prop, landing gear, wings... paintjob?", he idly turned on the remote.
Suddenly Paul straightened up, "Hey I cannot move! What have you done?".
Tag looked up from the control and gently pushed one of the joystick levers forward, simultaneously Paul stepped a few steps forwards until the lever was released again. "Looks like you're my pet after all.", he grinned at Paul, "Let's see what all those controls do.".
First he tried out the "paintjob" knob. He slowly turned it counter-clockwise and watched Paul change. The colour of his brown leather clothing slowly turned into a uniform shade of metallic grey. Strangely enough his shin colour also changed. As he neared the fully counter-clockwise position, his eyes flattened out and changed into cartoon-like animated paintings. His tongue started to swell filling the whole space in his mouth, merging with his teeth which became sharper and more triangular, like a row of sharp teeth. Everything merged together leaving a smooth surface with a fine grill in front allowing him to breathe.
Paul still stood there as Tag uttered, "Wow! You've gotta see this." He used the remote to slowly steer him to the bathroom there the next full length mirror was. Half way through he got an idea. Turning off the remote, Paul started to move again and sighed in relaxation, "That's better." The painted on mouth moved like an animated version of his former mouth.
As they arrived at the bathroom, Paul couldn't believe what he saw, turning over to Tag he asked him, "So... what do you think the other knobs do?" "Only one way to find out.", Tag replied while turning on the remote again, he found a little switch which allowed the pilot to move while the remote was still on.
This time he tried the "Prop" knob. Paul's nose began to push forward and became cone shaped and bigger. Going further, four small bumps started to grow. Soon enough they started into fully formed propeller blades. They were black with yellow tips. Paul reached up to touch them. He could feel his hands on the blades. Somehow the cone split enabling it to turn, "Wow. I wonder what the other knobs do?".
