As the brothers recognized each other and rejoiced at their new bodies their euphoria was cut short by the ominous sound of keys turning in the lock; their parents were home. They argued franticly and unintelligibly, knowing no way to explain that they were the two kids that lived there with their new bodies, minds and wardrobes.
The moment of truth as the door slowly opened but their mom and dad simply walked right past their shirtless sons as if everything was normal, merely asking how their days were and typical questions. Their father asked when they were going to go surfing, Confused, the boys decided to go back to their rooms to change only to find instead of two rooms they shared a larger one and their old clothes had been replaced with endless replicas of their current attire. The walls were plastered with pictures of famous surfers and surfer chicks. The two boys smiled and put an arm around one another, life was going to be good.
The next day the two weren’t surprised to find Ty was now enrolled in the same high school as his older bro as a sophomore. Scared at first, he realized he knew all of his classes, his new friends, everything, as if he had always been there. Both boys struggled with their classes in a way they never had before, however. They found it hard to resist the apathy and new desires to skip and head to the beach but they promised each other they’d make it through the day and meet up in front of the school afterwards for some quality beach time. They also promised not to call anyone ‘dude’ without both agreeing on it.
Tyler sat through his algebra class with barely concealed boredom though he had no qualms with all the new looks he got from guys and girls. He was wearing his usual boardies and sandals with a simple, and slightly small blue skater shirt to reveal his blossoming muscles. When class let out for break Ty left for his locker, causally yawning with his hands over his head to give some of his new fans a view of his midriff. En route he spied another sophomore, who he knew was named Brian trying to ask Samantha out. Despite being a sophomore Samantha would be a catch for anyone, at 16 she already looked like a women with a breath taking view from both front and back, long blond hair that fell to her waist and a figure that was thin but without looking anorexic. Her eyes brightened when she laughed ad her face was without flaw or mark. Brian was by no means ugly, in fact most girls found him very attractive with his boy next door looks. He had pale blue eyes, curly blond hair and a toned body of just about average height. Unfortunately, he was the victim of a changing world. Brian was straight-edge, sweet and polite, all the things girls no longer wanted. Tyler shook his head, feeling sorry for the poor guy as his bright eyes became lifeless. Tyler couldn’t hear Samantha’s response from where he was but knew it must’ve been harsh.
As Ty watched Brian head into the bathroom, dejected, he knew he had to do something. Bound by his promise to not use ‘dude’ without consulting with his brother Ty quickly hatched a better idea, hoping it wouldn’t end in disaster. He reached into his pocket where he still had a childish necklace from when he was 12, he focused and the necklace changed into a larger hemp choker, still warm with magic and power. Grinning and tucking the necklace back in his pocket he silently followed Brian into the bathroom. Brian was the only one in there, locked in a stall. Perfect, he thought, hope this works. He took out the necklace and kicked it across the floor into the stall. Then he walked out without a word or look back, the necklace would take care of the rest.
