You can scarcely believe how fast you are. Even a car would have a hard time keeping up. As you approach the lakefront, you slow down. A thought occurs to you. “I wonder what I look like as a fairy?” Hovering above the still, sparkling waters, you see that your ears are long and pointed; your shoulder length blonde hair now sports pink streaks; and your eyes were now a little larger with bright purple irises.
You also notice that you’re still naked. You fly back to the flowers, gathering petals and vines to fashion yourself a makeshift dress. Hovering over the water again, you see that the dress turned out better than you expected.
As you admire how the pink and purple petals bring out your new eyes and hair, you see something quickly approach the water’s surface right beneath you. When you realize it had a gaping maw, you shoot up into the sky, just as the predator breaches the surface. As it threatens to close its mouth on your legs, you point your hands at the beast, and fire a beam of light at it, piercing your would-be consumer. As the body fell into the water you finally get a chance to see that it was merely a fish, a large-mouth bass if you’re not mistaken.
“Well, that was fun!” you say half-sarcastically. “At least I know I can defend myself if I have to.” You look back at the forest and decide to resume your journey.
You enter the forest; the presence of fairies is stronger than ever.
“So, you’ve come.” A young woman’s voice says.
