Eodor couldn't help grinning. Back in his own body, his own gender, his own world. Igna wasn't quite as pleased, and Jeffrey was mostly concerned to avoid the notice of the man he had been impersonating.
The gate had left them a mile or so from Igna's fortress, and the three had set off in its direction. Eodor's jaunty stride caused Igna to lose the last hope that the prince had come to prefer the female form.
Eodor sighed. Despite his happiness, he was aware that it was not necessarily permanent, and that the basic problem of Igna remained unsolved.
"So what now, Igna? Do you still plan to make every man into a woman?"
Igna sighed. After all she and Eodor/a had been through, she wasn't going to be dishonest with him. "No" she said "Without access to the amount of power of a Demon Princess, it's just not possible. I have the skill to change the world, but not enough force. And anyway I'm not sure its such a great idea anymore. Dana and Astara were female, and their's wasn't exactly a world of love. Maybe trying to save the world in one gulp is a job for goddesses and demons, and I'm just a human being."
Eodor attempted to conceal his joy, as Igna was clearly depressed. "I can't say I'm sorry, sorceress, but I'm glad you came to that realization on your own."
"Thanks. Eodora was, Eodora was a good playmate." And now she's gone forever, Igna thought. She wasn't going to destroy the prince's evident happiness by putting him through another involuntary transformation just for a playmate, or even, if she was going to be honest with herself, a potential lover.
"So were you." The party walked on, each lost in his or her own thoughts.
