…waving a magic wand.” Lina said. “It had a star-shaped jewel at the tip and sparks were flying out as you twirled it.”
“Huh. I guess it was some kind of vision or message or something.” Amy surmised. “Thing is, where are we going to get…”
“The magic shop!” both girls said. Lina went to open the bedroom door when Amy grabbed her wing.
“Uh, Lina;” Amy asked, holding up one of Lina’s wings; “you want to explain these to your parents or should I?” Amy retracted her wings.
“Oh, duh.” Lina said. “How do I do that?”
“Just will them to hide.” Amy answered. Lina closed her eyes and her wings slowly retreated into her back.
“Amy,” Lina’s dad called; “Your mother is on the phone. She wants to know if you wouldn’t mind staying over here for another night. She and your dad want to go to a health spa today.”
“Sure, that’d be okay.” Amy responded. She turned to Lina. “So, after breakfast, we’ll go to the magic shop and see what they have in the way of fairy wands.”
“Let’s stop by the woods first? It’s not far out of the way and I’m dying to try out my new wings.”
After a hearty breakfast, the girls headed out. Deep in the woods, two sets of large, shimmering wings fluttered in the air.
“Whoa!” Lina gasped. “You were right, this IS something else!”
“Yes, it is;” Amy said twirling in midair; “I could fly out here all day.”
“So could I,” Lina agreed, “but we can come back here on the way home from the magic shop.” Lina said, landing and retracting her wings.
Amy landed and retracted her own wings. “You’re right.” She said and the two girls headed in the direction of the magic store.
