The suite like the rest of the hotel was made in a warped mix of fantasy and science fiction. The walls and floor and ceiling were all parts of a
traditional Japanese castle with wooden and papers walls along with the bed. But the phone had a holographic heads up display and the
television was a floating crystal screen and the ink paintings on the walls resembled giant robots. And the fridge was father glaring in the
waring states era decor.
The balcony showed a horde of sakura trees outside, along with several steam-punk and gundam style robots going about this way and that
many being led along by small children.
Tom said, "What a garish mix, I'm starting to think we made a mistake by reserving in this hotel. We should have gone with that traditional toon
one. I never even liked Japanese culture. I picked it just because there was a discount."
"I'm starting to see why." Lis said calmly.
As his parents Joe and Lisa unpacked, Tom waited for the three drinks that the generic toon rabbit woman had given him to take effect and
began to wonder if it had all been just a prank.
With their backs turned to each other as they finished getting their things out, Lisa stiffened. With a look of surprise and shock on her face she
stood at attention. She then lost several inches of height, her figure regressing to her teenage years. Her hair turned pink, and triangle shaped
cat ears popped out of her head as her human ones were hidden by her hair. Fangs grew out of her mouth. Her nose became a ski jump shaped
nose like an anime character's, and her eyes became huge and blue. Her skin took on a uniform tone with contrast shading. Her clothes
changed as well, shifting into a sailor fuku with trim same pink as her hair. A hole appeared in the skirt which a pink tail grew out of.
Lisa looked around and looked at her tail calmly and stroked her hand over it.
She asked in a conversational tone in perfect Japanese.
Joe turned around a yelped at his wife, who looked behind her in surprise wondering what her husband was reacting to. She looked back at
him.
She then ask again in flawless Japanese with all the tones and accents of a native. 'Husband dear? What is it? What happened? I have something
on my face?'
There was no 'L' sound in Japanese. So 'Lisa' was now 'Rin', cat-girl, wife to Joe-Kun, and school student.
Tom just grinned at his mother's new form.
"Lisa! You're a cat!"
Rin tilted her head wondering what was up with what her husband was saying. Tom managed to suppress a giggle.
