Paul Believes Tim, But Just To Be Sure...

added by Fitzroy Clement 12 years ago TG

"I suppose. How else would you know about my... spell?" Paul looked utterly at a loss to explain his own
question. "Is there some way you can prove it to me that you're not a girl?"

"Alright. Yeah, I can do that for you. Watch here..."

Tammy smirked as she took Paul's pencil and completed the question set on the sheet of paper in front of her,
answering one right after the other. Then she began writing her own problems, and Paul noticed that they were
PDE's(Partial Differential Equations), a topic not covered in Tammy's class nor something he thought that she
would be interested in.

"Done. Check them over yourself and see if I'm wrong on any of them."

Paul looked them over quickly and popped his eyelids wide open in cartoonish surprise.

"OK. Tammy, you are better in math than me. I believe that. Now how do you know about my uncle's spellbook?"

"Technically if I were really Tammy, I wouldn't because you just told me yourself, but since I am really a
boy, names Tim by the way, I saw it earlier today. You tried out a body switching spell and I became your dog.
Then later on when I could contact you you tried another spell, and then I ended up here. I guess you
accidentally put me in a parallel reality where I was born a girl. There's a chance that the female version of
me is stuck in my body right now, or in Lady's body."

"Lady?"

"Your dog."

"But my dog's name is Tramp."

"In my reality, you have a girl dog named Lady."

Paul shook his head. "OK, next test. Geek trivia. I'll start quoting from various things, and you tell me
their source origin. And I'm not going to give any easy ones that everyone knows like 'May The Force Be With
You'. This is going to be hard, got it?"

"Crystal clear" smiled Tim.

"OK..."

Paul's increasingly difficult question were a breeze for Tim. First Paul started out quoting from the new
version of Doctor Who, then he went into progressively older seasons and ending with trivia from the first
season way back in the 1960's. Then he talked aboutplot descriptions of various science fiction stories, and
Tim had to guess what the show or book's name was that the plot came from. Then came computer geek knowledge,
followed by esoteric stuff that Tim and Paul had made up years ago.

"My god" said Paul. "If you're not who you say you are, you're like the geekiest hot girl that I've ever met
and I want to make out with you really soon."

"Paul!"

"Sorry. This would be amazing if it were true. Just go and fetch me the book, show me exactly where I keep it,
and I'll believe that you are who you say you are."

"Sure, I'll do that. No problem"

Tim/Tammy then got off her seat and walked over to the loose floorboard in the back where he's seen Paul stick
his personal stuff in before, and grabbed the magic book. She walked over to Paul and showed it to him.

"It was this spell in particular" said Tim, blowing away dust as well as a loose strand of Tammy's long hair.
He had almost a photographic memory and knew exactly what page and spell Paul had used to swap with.

"So how do I change you back?" asked Paul. "I apparently didn't even know what I did to you in the alternate
reality. If I screw this up, well, anything could happen to you."

"There's a reversal spell at the bottom. There's one for every spell. It's right-here", and Tammy's manicured
nail pointed to the reversal.

"OK, here it goes" announced Paul, stepping away and holding the book open. "One thing though. I would kind of
like you to be my girlfriend, to be honest. Girl's who are smart and hot girls so rare to find these days. I
mean, I'm not or don't mean to insult pretty girls or imply that their beauty somehow saps them of their
intellect. I guess it's a societal thing for pretty girls to be conditioned to be stupid, I don't know. But
the point is, we're best friends even in the parallel reality, right? The real Tammy Sherman is polite and
everything, but she's not...you. Could you just, you know, take it one step further?"

Tim wondered how to answer.
