Josh was so excited! He had found out about the Cyber Disks last year on the Internet, before they were released. He knew he had to
have it, so he had preordered one. Today was the day that the Cyber Disks came out, and he would be one of the first people to
explore the Cyber World.
He ran down to the local store where they were just getting ready to open. There was already a line, but living in a small town meant
there weren't too many other people. Eventually, it was his turn in line.
"Ah, Josh my boy!" the store clerk, Sam, greeted. Josh was one of the frequent patrons of the store. "It's a good thing you aked me to
reserve one, I've had to turn the last few customers away. Here's your Cyber Watch and Disk."
"Thanks Sam!" Josh said excitedly as he ran out the door.
He returned to the orphanage where he had lived his entire life. He had never known his parents and, while the people who ran and
worked at the orphanage were nice, it wasn't the same as having a family. All of Josh's friends had either been adopted or gotten jobs,
but Josh planned on spending the rest of his life in the new Cyber World. He left a note for the workers explaining where he was going
and that they could give all his clothes and toys to the other kids.
With that being finished, Josh went back to the store. But he stayed outside. Whenever you entered the Cyber World, the place you had
been standing was remembered by the computer so that you would reform there if you ever wanted to leave the Cyber World. Not that
Josh thought he would; but just in case, he decided it would be best to reform at a place where he could buy more Cyber Disks. Josh
then turned on the watch which said "Please insert Cyber Disk." So he did and instantly transported to the Cyber World.
The transportation was like being squeezed through a toothpaste tube in the dark. When there was light again, Josh found himself in an
infinite room with a floor and ceiling made of grid squares. There were no visible walls, and he was standing on a platform high above
the floor with no way down. Just as he began to wonder what was happening, a hexagonal screen popped up in front of him along with
a rectangular mirror. The thing was, he couldn't see himself in the mirror, just the room and platform. Josh held up his hand, but didn't
see anything!
"Greetings, new player," came a soft feminine voice from the screen. "You are the 743rd person to enter the Cyber World. Before you
begin exploring, there are a few things that need to be done. First, you will create an avatar. On the list provided, you will find everything
imaginable, so make whatever character you want. Please note that Cyber Disks save their avatars permanently. The only way to
change your avatar is to insert a new disk. Have fun!"
The screen became filled with tons of options. The first choice was gender. Josh selected Male. His other choices were as follows.

When Josh reached the Additional Option, the voice told him that he could pick up to three options for his body that weren't possible in
the real world.

Josh watched in amazement as his character appeared on the screen. It looked a lot like he already was, but taller, more muscular, and
a little better hung. He clicked Save and felt his own invisible body change and grow until he was his character. He noticed his better
senses immediately and could feel his body surging with power. He couldn't tell if he had his third power until there was someone else
there. He admired himself in the mirror before returning to the screen.
"Now you may choose the clothes your character will wear. Your clothes will repair and clean themselves, so only one set is necessary."
Josh selected a pair of white boxer shorts, ankle socks, and wife beater as his underwear. He then added a black UnderArmor long-
sleeve shirt and a white Steelers football jersey with his own name and the number 00 on it. He chose a pair of dark blue denim jeans
as his pants with a brown leather belt and a pair of black sneakers. A pair of black sunglasses and a black baseball cap completed his
outfit.
Josh was then given an option labeled weapons. He chose an original style Colt revolver in a hip holster and a six inch Bowie knife with
a belt clip.
"Now that your avatar is complete, you may choose where in the Cyber World your avatar lives."
There were an almost infinite ammount of choices for Josh to live. A city, a farm, a jungle, a desert, the list went on and on!
