To Cally's delight the blonde girl was still sitting alone at her table as she approached. Somewhere in the back of her mind she felt the cosmic shock as Jarvis died, his magical essence being released into the ether, and she felt a dreamy inner satisfaction. That was one dead lizard.
"Excuse me." Cally stood in front of the blonde, who suddenly looked up from her glass of pop in surprise. "May I sit for a moment?"
"Well." The blonde motioned to the other chair. "Usually it's the guys. Good to know the opposite sex likes me too."
"Ah, you are lovely, my dear." Cally smirked. "But that's not my intent."
The blonde chuckled. "I see. Then what's up?"
"That birthmark." Cally pointed.
The blonde girl went deathly pale and stared at Cally with the kind of fear born of sonme horrible past experience. Time seemed to slow down for both of them.
"So you know what it is?" Cally queried, somewhat surprised.
"I-It's just a birthmark." The blonde lied. "Please, I think you should go."
"You have magic about you." Cally continued, unphased. "And I can teach you how to use it. Come with me, learn from me, and realize your power, your abilities, and your destiny." She paused for effect, saw the blonde girl's eyes tearing up. "Chosen One."
The blonde rose from her seat suddenly, said nothing, and backed away in horror from Cally.
"Miss... please, wait!" Cally called, but the blonde was already out the door by the time Cally went after her.
The trail, however, of the young girl's strong magical aura, was easy to follow. Cally moved like a bloodhound after the invisible marker... and suddenly bumped into two men.
