The door swung open and in walked Lydia's roommate, Sarah. Lydia gave her a smile, but in return Sarah gave
her a hostile sideways glare on her way to her desk. This threw Lydia off for a second since she had always
thought that she and her roommate got along fine. Apparently something had changed. Cally tried asking "How
was class?" but Sarah ignored the question. She reached her desk, threw down her bag and sat down at her
computer, putting her headphones in and doing her best to ignore both girls. Deciding to try again, Lydia
asked as pleasantly as possible "Rough day?" Sarah didn't even bother to turn around as she responded "Well it
wasn't 'til now."
Now it was Lydia's turn to get annoyed. Doing her best to hide it she replied "Well, you want to talk about
it?"
Sarah acidly snapped "You want to stop pretending you care?"
This time Lydia did not try to hide her frustration. Allowing an edge to creep into her tone for the first
time, she snapped back "Excuse me? Overreacting much?"
Sarah turned around this time. Giving Lydia a hateful glare she shot back "Oh and I suppose that all of a
sudden were just best friends! Seriously, what is your problem? Is it not enough that I have to see you
every day without all this mindless chatter? Can we just go back to ignoring each other now?" Lydia was about
to retort but her sister beat her to the punch. Giving Sarah and amused smirk Cally interjected "I'm sorry
what were you saying?" Lydia looked back and forth between the two sisters as if she couldn't decide which one
she hated more. Lydia was still trying to figure out what to say when Sarah turned away again. This time she
cranked her music up loud enough to drown out everything else, leaving Lydia standing in shock.
Cally smiled at Lydia, and knowing Sarah couldn't hear her she said "Wow, someone really needs to get
laid."
Lydia, glared at her sister before replying "I don't get it. She's not normally like this." Lydia wondered
what could have possibly caused her roommate's personality switch, but the more she thought about it, Sarah
seemed her normal self, except that she no longer got along with Lydia. Then it hit her. Sarah hadn't changed,
she had."Oh crap! It was us. We caused this. She didn't change I did. She go along fine with old me, all shy
and cute, blond and bubbly. But now look! I look like some punk band groupie. I mean look at me, and look at
her."
Most people wouldn't have guessed it, but Sarah was actually very pretty. Sarah, however, never flaunted
her natural beauty. Quite the opposite, she seemed determined to hide it under layers of clothing. Even now
she was wearing a baggy, shapeless sweater and a knee length skirt. Her blue eyes were hidden behind thick
glasses and her luxurious brown hair was woven in a severe bun. Lydia had no problem believing she found her
orange hair and piercings offensive.
Cally rolled her eyes. "Or she just really needs to get laid. Like you said, look at her." Cally all of a sudden got a mischievous look in her eye. "You know, we could do something about that..." Lydia guessed immediately what Cally meant and looked around for the watch but it was too late. Cally had already taken the watch and was moving toward Sarah...
