Tim paraded into the corral with obvious intent. Snorting and making all the instinctive moves of the bull he had become he stepped near to a willing cow.
All this time Alice watched with a strange facination as her friend learned so quickly the lifestyle and passions of the Bovine heritage. She stood peering out into the darkness as Tim humped his first ever cow and mate.
"ALICE!" called her Father from the house.
Suddenly fear took hold of her, this situation was just started. How would she be able to explain the return of her Sister's prize Angus bull? Then too Tim's parents would wonder what happened to the son they were so proud he'd been accepted into a ivy league college! Then yet, Tim her friend now changed by that strange medallion into a bull here in front of her, what could she do for him?
Even as she stood in the doorway of the barn she looked over her shoulder to see Tim hard at play with his second mount of the night. Alice knew she needed two things, a reasonable excuse for a rambling bull's return and the medallion she threw out into the orchard.
Alice's Father was halfway down the walk to his big barn when he met Alice coming to meet him.
"Daddy you will never believe who is back!" Alice exclaimed.
"Who, who is back?" asked Mr. Mason
"Sandy's Angus came back, I put him in the corral!" stated Alice.
Mr. Mason's eyebrows rose and looked at Alice as if she was pulling his leg.
"OK, Daddy come see, it's true he's in the corral with your three Herefords." said Alice as she motioned for Mr. Mason to come and see.
Standing at the corral fence Mr. Mason was dumbfounded to see the prize winning bull back at work. "I suppose I should call the meat packer in the morning and have it picked up. Oh but one bull looks like and another!" As he looks to Alice, "I guess Sandy has her best bull buddy back to stay. She will be most happy and I might put him out as sire for the Farm Bureau members, I'm sure that Timothy won't mind!"
Alice whirled around and stared at her Father.
Mr. Mason seeing her expression laughed, "You didn't know that Sandy named her pet after your boyfriend did you? Oh she was so upset when you went steady with Tim. It was at the same time she needed her new 4-H project and I suggested the bull, she then named him. I guess the best for all is to put his name on the available sire book as maybe T.J.Angus?"
Alice gave a smirk of a smile and the two turned around to walk back into the house. As Mr. Mason clicked off the backyard lights a loud bellowing from the Angus bull echoed into the night.
