"Oh crap!" RJ started, "They're going to freak when they see us. How can we explain this?"
Speaking of the devil, there was a knock on the door. "Jake... Dinner is ready!"
"Okay Mom! I'll be..." Both Jakes replied at the same time, realizing their mistake too late. Trying to cover
it up, each slipped their hand over the other's mouth muffling the rest of their reply.
"Jake!? Is there someone there with you?" Their mom's puzzled voice came through the door. The twins could see
the door knob wiggle and hear their mother struggle with the door. Thankfully, their dad was slow to fix
things around the house; the bedroom door still kept getting caught. Their jammed door would give them a few
extra seconds to prepare something.
"We can't let her see us like this, not now! She'll totally freak!" LJ quickly whispered.
"We need to tell her a different way" RJ agreed. "Quick this way!" Both whispered at the same time. RJ was
trying to kneel down so they could hide under the bed, but LJ was planning on moving toward the closet so they
could hide in there. Unsynchronized and unaware of the other's plan, their body pulled back and forth as they
tried going their own way. With a loud thump, they fell on the floor in a heap.
Just as they fell, their mom had finally pushed open the door. When she first laid eyes on them, she saw just
two boys oddly close together, as if they were hugging. Then she noticed that it was her son Jake and... her
son Jake on... one body. She stood their, baffled and speechless.
LJ and RJ struggled to stand, but quickly gave up when they couldn't coordinate it. So, they looked up at
their mom. She looked as white as a ghost. "Hi mom" RJ hesitantly started. "Have you met LJ?"
Finally, their mom gave an ear splitting scream.
