When she looked out her door, Jenny saw her new twin sister, Jamie.
Jamie was literally jumping for joy, which was making her breasts bounce out of control. She was so excited that Jenny could barely understand what she was saying. She seemed to be chanting, “Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod…”
Jenny got up and walked over to her. “What? What’s going on?” she asked, while noting with relief that they were now the same size.
“He’s coming! We’re going!” she beamed. “It’s really happening!”
“What’s happening?”
“They added another show!” Jamie said, and threw her hands in the air triumphantly.
Jenny was getting tired of this. “What?”
“I went online on Dad’s computer, you know, to check, and there it was on his website. They just announced another show for when he comes to town. Ohmygod, right!? Of course, I called Mom and asked her if I could get tickets for us. She said, ‘yes!’ And then, I ordered some, just before they sold out. We’re going! Three weeks and we’re going! Ohmygod!” Jamie said in one breathless stream of words. She looked ready to pass out.
Jenny was still confused, and she was really starting to regret that she was now identical to Jamie. “By ‘him,’ you mean…?”
Jamie looked stunned. “Are you kidding?”
Jenny just stared back at her.
“Bieber!” Jamie said. “Duh?”
“Justin Bieber?” Jenny said, trying to hide her revulsion. Like most teenage boys, Jeff—currently Jenny—had a long-standing hatred for Justin Bieber and the type of vacuous pop music he made.
“Can you believe it?” said Jamie. “Only three weeks and we’ll be within fifty yards of him.” She squealed with delight.
Jenny was torn. She really didn’t want to go to a Justin Bieber concert. In fact, she could imagine a number of awful tortures she would rather endure than go to his concert. But, Jamie was her sister, her twin sister, actually. It would be pretty weird for Jamie if she didn’t go with her, and Jamie was so excited.
“Awesome,” Jenny said, doing her best to fake enthusiasm.
Jamie wrapped an arm around Jenny’s shoulder and turned her to face a poster on her wall. “Just look at him,” Jamie said and rested her head on Jenny’s shoulder. “So gorgeous.” There he was. Justin freaking Bieber had just materialized on Jenny’s wall in the last few minutes. Below it was a collage of photos that looked as if they had been cut out of Tiger Beat or Seventeen. Apparently, Jenny was supposed to be a huge Bieber fan as well.
“Yep,” said Jenny, barely hiding her disgust. “Totally.”
Suddenly, Jamie pulled away from her. “Oh, I need to IM Lisa about this. She’ll be so jealous.” Jamie ran out, apparently to find her phone.
Jenny just stared at Justin Bieber, grinning back at her, mocking her. She wanted to rip his face off… of her wall. She grabbed the poster, ready to tear it down, but paused. Jamie would notice if she did. That would hurt her. At least for now, Jenny figured, she should try to act as if they were really sisters. She let the poster go and stepped back, looking the teen idol over one more time.
Feeling defeated, Jenny sighed. “Well,” she said, grudgingly. “I suppose he’s not totally ugly. I can put up with him in my room for a little while, I guess.”
She decided to go watch some TV to take her mind off of the whole situation. It had been a stressful day after all. Walking out of her room, she gave the poster one last look. He really wasn’t bad looking.
“See you in three weeks,” she said and headed off to veg out in front of the TV.
