"Sorry, Mr. Wizard, you may have more power than someone your age should have, but you can't attack four of us at once."
"FOUR IN ONE."
Joe felt queasy, and looked around he was alone with the Wizard. Was this a translocation spell or perhaps a temporal spell that would allow the wizard to fight them individually. Dragons are adept at resisting and breaking such spells, but which was it? Never hurts to ask, "Where did everyone else go?"
"I'm right here!" Christine announced.
"Me, too," echoed Mike.
"Ditto,"mumbled a disheartened Brian.
Joe looked down to see his fellows three heads growing out of dragon necks that had sprung from his own body.
"Now, I can fight four, as one," laughed the wizard, "But I want a fair fight, so I'll give you some time to get used to your new reality."
Then he was just gone. No smoke, no flash of light. If anything the lack of effects made them realize just how powerful their foe was.
Joe lifted his left foot to walk forward. At the same time Brian lifted the right, Mike the left rear and Christine the right rear. Crash. The giant dragon body lay on the ground in a painful belly flop. They were going to have to work together even just to walk.
