As they approached Mark's house, they saw Max standing by his black truck, and staring at the front door. It looked like he was waiting for Zack, so he didn't see Mark and Luke come up the driveway. Max had his arms crossed, and was tapping his foot, "Come one Zack, you're taking forever..." Max turned around and saw the conjoined pair, "Mark! Hey! How did... last..." Max had walked over and saw Marks black eye, and the cut on Luke's head. "What the hell happened to you guys?" Mark and Luke glanced at each other out of the corner of their eyes. "You guys got in a fight, didn't you?" Max took another step closer and glared at Luke, "What did you do to him?!"
"Max!" Mark put his hand on Max's chest, "It's ok... We settled things, and it's behind us."
"Kinda..." Luke added at the end.
"And what the hell does that mean?!" Max shouted at Luke.
"My parents, and yours, want to see me and Mark right away after school." Luke rolled his eyes, "They want to have a little chat about last night."
"And you might need to come..." Mark sighed, "Ethan suspects it might have something to do with you... and drugs."
"What! Drugs! I don't do drugs!" Max glared at Luke again, "What's with your dad, and why does he think I'm on drugs?!"
"How should I know?!" Luke shouted back.
"Enough!" Mark turned themselves so he was between Luke and Max, "Both of you, just stop!" Once everyone had taken a moment Mark continued, "All that matters now, is what we're going to tell them."
"Well, we can't tell them the truth." Luke said plainly, "That's for sure."
"What ever, we can think of something at school." Mark put his hand on Luke's shoulder and smiled at him.
"Speaking of which..." Max turned back around and yelled at the house, "Zack! Are we're leave! Now!" Just then Zack came flying out of the house so fast, he had to run back and close the door. "It's about fucking time Zack." Max shook his head and got into the trunk.
"Sorry..." Zack lowered his head as he walked around the vehicle, "There wasn't any breakfast left..." He glanced over his shoulder and quietly added, "Someone ate it all." Mark stopped him before he got in and handed him what was left of his pop tart. Zack looked up at him and a tiny smile appeared on his face, "Thanks." What smile their was, faded quickly when he saw Mark's eye, "W-what happened? Are you guys..."
"Zack! Hurry up and get in!" Max called out the window making Zack lower his head again. Zack got in the back, while Mark and Luke took the front. Max took another look over at his fused brother before pulling out of the driveway and heading to school.
