"How are you not hung over?" Vicki asked, a hint of annoyance in her voice. Her red hair was draped over her
face, but Rain could see the pain behind her eyes. "My mouth tastes like a pine tree, my head is pounding, I
feel like I'm going to vomit and, to top it all off, I have little Miss Sunshine here sing-songing all the god
damn morning. You had just as much to drink as me - hell, you had more - and you're up, dressed, made up and
couch-bound within ten minutes?"
Rain patted Vicki gently on the back, and looked at her with eyes full of false sympathy. "It's really quite
simple, Slider, babe. I'm amazing." Rain smiled wide and giggled loudly, falling back onto the couch in fits
- only briefly aware that Sunny hadn't joined in. In fact, Sunny hadn't said much at all.
But that was forgotten as Vicki's already pale complexion paled a touch further, and she bounded - without
further comment - to the closest bathroom. Had Rain cared to listen, she would have heard her newest
friend/roommate/test subject emptying what little remained in her system. But Rain was pulled away from her
reverie by a slight disapproving glance from Sunny. "What?" Rain asked.
Sunny sighed loudly, a frown tugging at the corners of her mouth. "It's just..." she began, trailing off for
a moment. "It's just I think you might be taking this a bit too far. A few harmless changes between friends
is one thing, but now...you're starting to act like a natural born woman. Which isn't a problem, but...you DO
want to go back to being Sean, right? And what about Vicki?"
Rain's voice was terse, but she humored the question. "What about Vicki? She seems happy enough - a little
miserable from last night's activities, but no permanent damage done. Frankly, I think it's an improvement."
Sunny turned and glared at Rain. "You've taken her identity away from her! She was perfectly happy being an
only child before - I know we joked around about turning Dan into a girl, but what made you think it was okay
to make him into Vicki's twin? And what about Dan's idiot friend? None of them even realize that they
weren't sisters before yesterday!"
Rain blinked and, for a moment, said nothing. She was allowing Sunny's statement to process. 'She wasn't
here when Chris arrived...she doesn't have any clue how things are supposed to be.'
"Right. Because Vicki is supposed to be an only child. And it's unfair that I took that away from her.
That's a good point. But...the water on the laptop caused some damage. What would you say if I told you I
tried, but I couldn't change Danni and Misty back right away?" Rain asked, pleading a little.
Sunny relented a bit, hearing this. "You tried? You mean you actually want to change them back?"
"Of course I do!" Rain exclaimed, not sure whether or not she was telling the truth. "But their profiles
were corrupted, and it's going to take some time to recover the files. Vicki doesn't notice anything
different, and as far as the rest of the world knows, they're hot, intelligent triplets. The world is their
oyster. Let them have a little fun before they go back to their old lives." Rain ended with a huff. Sunny's
determined look wavered, but didn't falter.
"Fine. But what about you? And this Jay guy? You change some co-worker into a random girl and send her out
the door? That's irresponsible, Rain. Where the hell is she supposed to go?" Sunny crossed her arms under
her sizable breasts, awaiting rebuttal.
Rain sighed. "Look, she knew where she was going - she knew who I was. She had a history, a home and
friends, and she's going to be coming over later so I can change her back, like I promised you. And as for
me? I'll go back to being Sean eventually, but...how often does one get a chance to explore both sides of the
fence? I'm having fun and embracing what I have. I'm not losing my Sean self, but I AM allowing Rain to come
out and play. Stop being such a worry-wart." Rain ended, sticking her tongue out at Sunny.
For her part, Sunny stopped talking. And soon after, her stony silence gave way to a short hug between
friends. "I'm sorry," Sunny said, "I was being...over dramatic. You're a big girl - you can take care of
yourself. Just...don't do anything rash, okay?" Sunny sniffed.
Rain returned the hug before standing up and heading back to her room, calling over her shoulder, "I never
do."
'Holy crap, I need to fix Sunny's memory before we have another one of these talks.' Rain thought to herself
before sitting down in front of the laptop.
