Your eye is drawn to the dusty old oil lamp sitting on the table at the side of the tent. “How much for that lamp” you ask the old woman sitting behind the cash register not really caring about the answer; something is drawing you to the lamp and you would be willing to pay anything for it.
“I can see you have a connection with the item” the old woman replied with a smile. “Normally it wouldn’t be for sale, but it seems to be the right time for it to move on so I give it to you”.
“Are you sure” you say a little taken aback.
“Quite” she says handing it to you. “Just remember one thing; what the power you hold makes so cannot be undone, you must be cautious”.
“Thank you” you say not really understanding the warning. You leave and continue to browse the flea market for a while but nothing else grabs you so you leave for home.
Once home you try and find a good place for the lamp, but nowhere seems right for it. “Maybe if I clean it up a bit” you think to yourself. Grabbing the polish and a cloth you start rubbing the lamp, but suddenly drop it as blue smoke billows out.
Staring at the smoke you see it solidify into a vaguely humanoid shape and further condense until a large muscular man was left floating before you. He would have been like any other man except for the fact his skin was a deep blue and his lower half was still a cloud of smoke attached to the lamp.
“Greetings new master” said the floating man. “I am Gadrenzil, the djinn of the lamp you now posses. As your servant I am bound to grant any wish you would ask of me”.
Dumbstruck you just stare at the Genie floating in your front room. “This can’t be real” you finally manage to say. “That gas must have got me high or something”.
“Oh I am quite real master” said the Genie. “I can see you are overwhelmed at the moment, so I will return to my lamp. You may call upon me at anytime; if you have need of me just rub the lamp”.
“Wait” you call out. “How many wishes do I get, and are there any rules”.
“You get as many wishes as you can make master” the Genie replied. “As for rules, my magic can only affect people, places and object a certain distance from me. Anything else I think it would be fun for you to find out on your own” he said with a wicked grin as he descended into the lamp. Suddenly recalling the old woman’s warning you know you need to be careful what you wish for.
